WHO KILLED MOOSEWALA

The Killing of Sidhu Moosewala is a gripping true-crime account that investigates the shocking murder of one of Punjabi music’s biggest icons. Written by award-winning crime journalist Jupinderjit Singh, the book goes beyond the headlines to examine the investigation, the people involved and the deeper social realities that shaped one of India's most talked-about criminal cases.

📖 About the Book

On 29 May 2022, Punjabi rapper and singer Sidhu Moosewala left his ancestral home in Moosa for what was meant to be a short drive to a nearby village. Before he reached his destination, he was ambushed and fatally shot by armed assailants, sending shockwaves across India and the global Punjabi community.

As tributes poured in from millions of fans, questions surrounding Moosewala's life and death intensified. Admired for his fearless music and larger-than-life persona, he was also a controversial figure whose songs often sparked debates about violence, gun culture and alleged links to criminal networks. The circumstances of his murder quickly became the subject of nationwide attention.

Drawing on his extensive experience as a crime reporter, Jupinderjit Singh reconstructs the investigation through police findings, arrests and emerging evidence. Alongside the criminal inquiry, the book explores the social and political landscape of Punjab, examining issues such as gang rivalries, youth unrest and the complex forces that contributed to one of the state's most sensational crimes.
