Over the next three decades, he played a significant role in Indian cricket administration, working closely with BCCI presidents, state cricket associations and the founding team behind the Indian Premier League (IPL).

✍️ About the Author

Amrit Mathur is an accomplished sports administrator who has served as Secretary of the Sports Authority of India and Advisor to the Ministry of Sports. He played a key role in conceptualising and implementing the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS), India's flagship programme for supporting elite athletes.

Mathur has also served as General Manager of the BCCI, Chief Operating Officer of the Delhi Daredevils, and held senior administrative positions across several state cricket associations. Currently, he is Advisor to the Federation of Indian Fantasy Sports and writes the popular cricket column "Straight Drive" for the Hindustan Times.
